  • David founded McLean Asset Management and leads the organization’s investment activities. In 2007, David established the ROMC Fund targeting high-net-worth investors. In 2016, ROMC Trust launched with a focus on dealers. David is lead portfolio manager for the firm and always on the hunt for value.

    Prior to founding McLean Asset Management, David was the Global Asset Allocation Strategist and a Portfolio Manager at Chase Global Asset Management (now JP Morgan).

    David holds an MBA from the London Business School, and a BA Economics from Queen’s University.

  • Joseph joined McLean Asset Management as a Member of the Investment Committee and to support organizational initiatives including business development and stakeholder relations.

    Prior to joining McLean Asset Management, Joseph was Managing Director at Wittington Investments Limited and responsible for the organization's discretionary investment portfolio, strategic planning activities, M&A initiatives and treasury functions. Most recently, Joseph led the sale of the Selfridges Group - one of the world’s most recognized luxury retailing groups operating physical stores throughout Europe with global reaching digital offerings.

    Joseph holds an MBA from Saint Mary’s University and a BSc with Honors in Mathematics and BioChemistry from Dalhousie University.

  • Mr. Heymann is the President and Founder of Wychcrest Compliance Services Inc., a leading regulatory and compliance consulting firm for Canadian securities-related Registrants. Prior to founding Wychcrest, Mr. Heymann spent over eight years at Ontario Securities Commission within various roles including Corporate Registration Officer within the Compliance and Registration Department. There Mr. Heymann was involved in interpreting legislation, analyzing and approving applications for registration by dealers and advisors, and reviewing the on-going compliance responsibilities of firms.

  • Born and educated in Montreal, Mr. Laing graduated from Queen’s University in 1962, and in 1964 joined Hodgson Roberton Laing (“HRL”), the first independent investment counsellor in Canada with roots back to 1928. In 1967 Mr. Laing was appointed advisor to a major Canadian Bank to manage the conversion of the Bank’s pension fund from mortgages to a balanced portfolio of mortgages, bonds and equities. Mr. Laing was a founding member of the Investment Counsel Association of Quebec and its first President. In 1980, Mr. Laing became President of HRL. In 1995, HRL merged with YMG to form Yield Management Group Inc. Mr. Laing was appointed Chairman of the Board. In 1997, seeing an opportunity in the Group Retirement Plan business, Mr. Laing withdrew from Yield Management Group to become President and CEO of Open Access Limited. Over a decade later, Open Access remains one of Canada’s leading independent Group Retirement companies helping working Canadians retire well.

  • Mr. van Schaik is currently the President of Van-Rob Realty and Vice-chair of the Board for Southlake Foundation. In 1979, Mr. van Schaik formed Van-Rob Inc., an automotive parts supplier, which grew into one of Canada’s largest automotive parts suppliers. In 2011, Van-Rob Inc. consolidated with Kirchhoff Automotive, creating a global automotive supplier operating across threecontinents. In 2016, Mr. van Schaik divested his remaining interest in Van-Rob Inc. to Kirchhoff Automotive. Since that time, Mr. van Schaik has been an active member within the philanthropic community. Under Mr. van Schaik’s leadership as Southlake Foundation’s Count on Me Cancer Campaign Chair, $65 million dollars was raised to build the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, which opened in 2010. Mr. van Schaik was recognized as Aurora’s Citizen of the Year at the 2017 Community Recognition Awards.
